A custom AI employee for live operations monitoring
A supervised AI worker that watches the dashboards, sends the alerts, and writes the digests — the monitoring seat, filled.
The problem
A growth team needed someone watching their operation continuously: keeping an eye on dashboards, sending scheduled alerts, nudging when an error appeared, and producing regular digests so everyone stayed informed.
Done by a person, this is a full seat of attention spent on vigilance — exactly the kind of steady, repetitive watching that humans are bad at sustaining and that quietly lets things slip.
"A full seat of attention spent on vigilance — the kind of watching that quietly lets things slip."
Our approach
We scoped the monitoring role like a job description: what needs watching, what counts as normal, what triggers an alert, who needs which digest and when.
Then we built an AI employee to own that role under supervision — visible actions, a clear definition of done, and the ability for a human to step in at any point.
What we built
A supervised AI worker dedicated to live operations monitoring. Self-healing: when a monitoring feed fails, it detects the gap, logs the failure, and re-establishes it without human intervention.
- Continuous watching of the dashboards and signals that matter
- Scheduled alerts and error nudges routed to where the team works
- Regular digests so the whole team stays informed without checking manually
- Full oversight — every action logged, every threshold adjustable
- Edge cases held for a human instead of guessed at
- Self-improving: writes its own skill fixes when it encounters failures it can resolve
The result
The team got back a seat's worth of attention. Nothing sits unwatched, and the alerts and digests arrive on schedule.
Because it is supervised, the team trusts it with the real job — it stops and flags the edge cases rather than acting blind.
How we think about it
Monitoring is the perfect first AI employee: high-vigilance, low-judgment, and painful for a person to sustain. The trick is supervision.
An unwatched agent watching your operation is just a new risk; a supervised one, scoped to a clear role, is a reliable teammate. That is the line we hold on every AI employee we build.
